I was contacted by an education specialist in Maryland to develop an identity for her new business, Best Solutions Educational Services. Given that she had never worked with a graphic designer before, the process called for a bit of design education on my part. Ultimately, we arrived at a result that both of us were happy with. Miscellaneous poster designs from the past three years.
Various experimentation with photomontage techniques.
I was contacted by the American Red Cross Birmingham (Alabama) and was asked to revamp their annual ”Paint the Town Red” digital art festival website and event poster. The primary goal in reshaping the identity of Paint the Town Red was to pull in a greater pool of participants and possible attendees so as to continue to grow the event.
We explored the various aspects of the Raleigh Historic Neighborhood of Oakwood and ultimately decided to focus on its annual Candlelight Tour. The tour invites guests each December to explore the homes of Oakwood and is a warm way to welcome visitors. Our goal was to bring light to the neighborhood by expanding the tour’s audience and encourage visitors to explore the neighborhood. We sought to build community outreach and improve the event experience.
Anchor Services came to me as an up and coming company that needed a clean brand identity developed (they are a pressure washing company, so “clean” would seem appropriate).
As a huge Lakers fan, I felt the need to create this music video after they won back to back championships (I had one one the previous year that was not quite as good). It has received a positive response from the Lakers’ online community and has been viewed over 10,000 times.

In working with a partner (Logan Sayles) we developed a hypothetical non-profit organization called “Shift”; an initiative dedicated to reclaiming abandoned and forgotten, urban spaces to be used as community art and entertainment space.
Using a typeface designed from scratch by a classmate, we were to create a composition to promote the quality of that particular typeface. I was assigned to “Spindle”- designed by Sarah Blackmon.
Design a typeface that is reflective of the city of Prague. –The typeface, Muztek, is reflexive of both the transit and skyline of Prague. Unicase and relatively slim, it represents the tall, yet not greatly varying height buildings of the city. The three line system that comprises the letters represents the city’s excellent public transit (rails) while the name (Muztek) is one of the main stops on the metro line.
Using the Jonas Brothers as an example, I explore the concept of cultural imperialism (the practice of promoting, distinguishing, separating, or artificially injecting the culture of one society into another). I chose the Jonas Brothers as my model as they could be described as pop culture icons that reflect mainstream media’s domination over what the world considers “cool”.
Taking content from a short, humorous interview (of a friend) I produced a double sided poster to capture the essence of his hubris.
